The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Rabat, the Royal Kingdom of Morocco welcomes you to its website which is designed to acquaint you with Nigeria the giant of Africa, in its renewed strides at national development. This includes her rich history and people. The aim is also to ensure timely and efficiency in delivery of services by the Mission, through the portal. In this regard, your feedback will be valuable to further improve and position this website, as a credible reference platform.
Finally, I would like to use this opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the Mission in pursuing its objectives of effective service delivery and accomplishing its Mission statement in Morocco.
In doing this, the platform is divided into sections, commencing from; the Homepage, General Information on Nigeria, relevant contact information on the Mission, its services, passports, visas and the staff. The portal equally has useful links to Nigeria Presidential Villa, the National Assembly, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Ministries of Education, Health, Information/Culture, Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Corporate Affairs Commission, Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission.
It's hoped that all these, together with subsequent updates would enhance better appreciation of Nigeria, which hitherto have not been readily available on major international communications platforms and portals.
Thank you for taking the time for the visit!
2017-07-14On 14th July, 2017, Nigeria's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Baba Garba presented his Copie D'usage to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco, Mr. Mohamed Ali Lazreq.
2017-05-16STATEMENT BY THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, MR. GEOFFREY ONYEAMA AT THE NIGERIA-MOROCCO BILATERAL MEETING IN RABAT-MOROCCO-MAY 2017 Your Royal Majesty, King Mohammed VI, Esteemed Members of the Royal Family, Distinguished Members of the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, Your Excellencies, Members of the Diplomatic Corp, and Fellow Senior Members of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is my honour to bring you the greetings and best wished of my President, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari. I also have the distinct privilege of bringing to all Moroccans the greetings of all Nigerians. You might recall that at His Royal Majesty’s state visit to Nigeria on 3rd of December 2016, our two countries entered commitments to work in mutually beneficial ways to strengthen our bilateral cooperation in various areas including agriculture, infrastructure and gas development. Ladies and Gentlemen, who would have imagined that 8 weeks after that commitment was signed, phosphate- produced here in Morocco- was being blended into fertilizer for agriculture 2,000 miles away in Nigeria, under the program, coined as the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative. The program has revived several moribund fertilizer blending plants in Nigeria; it has so far created thousands of direct and indirect jobs; ensured that our farmers have access to good quality fertilizer, at affordable price and well before the start of the planting season. The success of this program thus far, can only be attributed to the strength of the personal relationship as well as the commitment, vision and leadership shown by both His Majesty, King Mohammed VI and His Excellency, President Buhari. These achievements are testament to the commitment of our chief executives and institutions who have worked tirelessly to implement what the two Heads of State have directed us to do. Without the focus and drive of the Government of Morocco, the Federal & State Government of Nigeria, the l’Office Cherifien de Phosphates, the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the Fertilizer Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria-this idea would have been jettisoned, just like the numerous Government to Government agreements that are signed every year. Your Majesty This strong bilateral relationship is not limited to the fertilizer industry alone. The vision you share with His Excellency, President Buhari to enhance our natural resources for economic growth, has crystallized in extensive discussions on the decision taken in Abuja to study the proposed regional gas pipeline to connect Nigeria’s gas resources, those of other West African countries and Morocco. This initiative is further underscored by the imperative to foster regional economic integration as well as accelerate electrification and industrialization in our mining, petrochemical, light manufacturing, agro-processing and fertilizer sectors. Today, we are here to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in the joint initiative regarding the proposed regional gas pipeline and to carry the fertilizer initiative forward into its second phase. Our hope is that this second phase will lead us to more significant strategic partnership for the development of agriculture in Nigeria. Your Majesty, once again, thank you for your invitation to this meeting and for the hospitality accorded to me and members of our delegation.
